All the senior guys around 60 members were invited on stage. All of them picked up one rose each from the tray where all the roses were being placed.
Each guy has a spotlight shredded on him whenever he starts to handover the rose and once he gives the rose to the girl, the spotlight will be on the girl that he gave rose to. Slowly the seniors started handing over the roses to junior girls whoever they found interesting.
At first Sanjana did not receive any flowers and she was okay with it as she do not want to be the center of attention as well.
Eventually, a guy noticed her and started walking in her direction. The spotlight was on the guy and he handed the rose to her. Akshath who was sitting beside Sanjana was burning with jealousy. Soon his jealousy turned into a full blown fire as there were 26 other guys that handed roses to Sanjana.
Sanjana smiled and politely said thank you for every flower that she received. "Fuck her politeness. She is smiling and even thanking all those mother fuckers", Akshath thought to himself. All his friends along with Sam, Tara and piggy started to observe his reaction.
"I think he will literally burst into fire balls or just blow fire out of his mouth", muttured Piggy to Jay who was sitting beside her and Jay confirmed nodding his head.
"Okay guys, thank you so much for your support. Now the girls who received roses, please come on to the stage", announced the hostess.
All the girls that received roses started moving towards the stage. Sanjana hesitated a bit but with a little push from her friends she went on to the stage all well.
"Okay miss what is your name? Because its clear that you got the most number of flowers today", asked the hostess holding up the mic to Sanjana.
"My name is Sanjana and I am from engineering course", replied Sanjana softly. "Wow, even your voice is beautiful. Okay so now you will be crowned as MISS ROSE. Please come to the middle of the stage" Said hostess to Sanjana.
She was given the miss rose sash that she wore on stage along with a little crown.
"Now the panel will be asking you all girls few questions. Please give your opinion on it for MISS FRESHER selection", announced the hostess to all the girls that received the roses.
There were around 12 girls and they had to pick a number from a glass jar where they will be asked questions according to the order of the number that they picked.
Sanjana's number is 3. She was quiet nervous about the whole ordeal. Girls were asked 3 questions each.
Now it was Sanjana's turn. "What do you think is your greatest strength Miss Sanjana Saxena?", asked a panel member.
"Umm I think empathy and kindness is my greatest strength",replied Sanjana. "Everyone consider empathy and kindness as their weakness but you are considering it as strength.can we know why?", asked another member.
"Empathy is where you detect and understand someone's emotional state and understanding their perspective by imagining ourselves in their shoes so when you do that, the person will feel accepted, validated in turn building trust.
In this busy life if you are taking out your time and making someone happy, I would definitely consider it as my strength. And if you are being kind, you are not loosing anything in your life. It just strength your relationship and makes you feel satisfied so I consider this as a powerful anti-depressant", replied Sanjana feeling nervous even though she stand by her answer.
"Wow you have such a great understanding of these and explained then so well", said one of the panel members and asked another question.
"You talked about empathy. So how do you differentiate sympathy? Are the both same?", asked another panel member.
"Sympathy is feeling sorry for someone and pitying them. You even pass judgements on the person but empathy is where you identify their sorrow, offer comfort and get to the root of the problem", replied Sanjana feeling satisfied.
Everyone applauded for her as she explained the questions thrown at her meticulously. Soon all the candidates answered all the questions but none of them were effective enough like that of Sanjana's answers. Now it was time for judgment.
"Okay students our panel has decided on the candidate for MISS FRESHER. Any guesses?", asked the hostess.
Crowd started chanting Sanjana's and few other girls names.
"I hear by declare Miss Sanjana Saxena as MISS FRESHER AND MISS ROSE of the year. Give her a big round of applause", announced the hostess. Every student in the auditorium cheered as she was the most deserving winner of them all.
"Now the selection for MISTER FRESHER will begin", said the hostess to audience making them go crazy.
In the same way all the senior girls handed over the rose and Akshath got most number of roses. When they invited them on stage for Mister fresher, Akshath was done with it. He took Sanjana's hand and started heading out.
Sanjana's POV:
Akshath was invited on stage as he was MISTER ROSE and was eligible for MISTER FRESHER as well. Instead of going on stage to participate in the competition, he is dragging me out of the auditorium with him.
He took me towards the parking lot and made me sit in his car and started driving at full speed.
We do not know where we are heading to and it is already 5:00pm. "Akshath where are we going", I asked him feeling confused.
After may be 45 minutes of silent driving we reached a farm house that screamed luxury. It was surrounded by trees and a big garden at the entrance.

"Akshath", I called him out again this time as I was unable to process why he brought me here.
"This is my farmhouse. Let's go", he replied in one simple sentence. "But why are we here? and what's going on?", I asked him desperately waiting for an answer.
He held my hand and started heading inside. He took me to the backyard.
"I do not like it", he said and I stood beside him still processing what is happening.
"I don't like the way those guy's look at you. I don't like the way you smile at them. I don't want you holding the roses handed over to you by them. I just don't like you with anyone else other than me", he said surprising me as I felt like this is the most number of words that he has sprouted out since we met.
May be he is indirectly confessing? That was the first thought that crossed my mind.
"Umm, I did not understand Aksh", I conveyed the same to him. "What did you not understand Sanjana? Can't you see how I feel when other guys look at you? Can't you see that you are the only girl I talk to and give importance to? Can't you see that I have been sitting beside you during classes? I thought actions meant a lot more than mere words", said Aksh shocking me.
It really did come out as a shock to me as I always used to deny the thought of him liking me in that sense. I used to think that as he did not know how to behave around girls his behavior was justified.
"You...you li....ke...Like me?", I stammered. "Yes for god's sake. I fucking like you a lot", he replied making my heart go boom boom.
"Do you like me?", his voice came out as a wishper.
Is it like or is it not?
